Project: “Water – The Stream of Life” exhibition

Challenge

Heureka set out to create a water-themed exhibition that would demonstrate the movement of water, dams and waterfalls in a realistic setting. The space called for exceptional performance from the flooring: visually, it needed to resemble a sandy seashore, while also providing 100% waterproofing beneath the exhibits. The surface also had to withstand the heavy wear caused by thousands of visitors.

Solution

After extensive testing and trials, Heureka’s project team chose a TKR trowel-applied floor coating. The solution met two critical requirements at the same time:

1. Technical protection: The coating forms a seamless waterproof barrier.

2. Visual experience: The coating was used to recreate the colours and contours of a real sandy beach, reinforcing the exhibition’s natural and realistic appearance.

Result

The result is a visually realistic and technically durable solution that withstands both water and heavy visitor traffic. The exhibition brings together scientific knowledge and sustainable design in an engaging, immersive experience.
